It all started in 1995 when Craig Newmark sent an email to several people, listing several things to do in San Francisco, CA. It was after about 2 years and 1 million subscribers later that he realized he was onto something. Fast forward 23 years, and Craigslist has become a well-known name for those either looking to sell, or buy something.

You can buy almost anything from Craigslist. For example, If you are ever looking for dirt (yes, actual dirt) don’t go outside. There’s plenty on Craigslist! If you think that’s weird, keep scrolling. We found ten strange and hilarious Craigslist ads for your enjoyment.

1.Ugg Boot

Love Ugg boots? We found a token UGG piece you’ll NEED to add to your collection. This UGG boot is HUGE, literally. The ad headline reads “Giant Ugg Boot? Giant Ugg Boot.” We’re not entirely sure what you can use it for. However, we’re sure you’ll find the purrfect use for it- perhaps a cat house…

2. Gotta Catch ‘Em All

When you can’t seem to catch them all, maybe you need to hire a personal trainer. That’s right- for the low price of $20/ hr., you can hire a Professional Pokemon Go Trainer. Thanks, Craigslist.

3. Amanda, Please!

Ever bit off more than you can chew? This person impulsively adopted 16 reptiles, but decided that 5 was more his style. This means 11 of these cold-blooded reptiles were up for grabs. Let’s hope these “Amandas” found a good home.

4. “Fall” In Love

Who needs Tinder when you have Craigslist? Apparently “fall boyfriends” were in high demand in 2014. Even though the internet dating scene was in full effect, these girls decided to take an alternate route to finding love by placing an ad for a boyfriend during the fall season.

5. The Couch Monster

*Warning* there’s profanity in this one- follow the link at your own discretion.

Everyone loves free stuff right? Even when it’s somewhat aggressive… According to this ad, you can get yourself an “Overly Aggressive Couch/ Futon” for FREE. Beware- this advertiser warns us it’s a bit aggressive, but luckily house broken (whatever that means).

6. Ride Needed

Some people still haven’t discovered Uber, Rideshare or Lyft. This person has placed an ad requesting a ride from a medical procedure. If you’re a female that is “serious and willing to show up” and also looking to make an extra $70… hit her up.

7. Haunted Doll

If you’re a doll enthusiast, we found the perfect piece for your collection. Unfortunately, we can’t confirm if it is even available anymore because the original ad has been mysteriously removed from Craigslist. Luckily, we found a video of the creepy doll so you can check it out.

8. Roommate Wanted

Looking for a new roommate? You might want to look somewhere other than the internet. Some people are pretty demanding on the web. Take this guy, who was looking for a roomie back in ‘07. He seemed pretty nice, up until the 4th paragraph when he listed his “rules that need to be followed.” He’s pretty strict about preferred cooking spices, house guests and personal hygiene practices.

9. BBQ Dad

On the hunt for a BBQ dad – these students from Spokane, Washington were just looking for a nice dad to fill in for Father’s Day. Requirements included: grilling, with a minimum of 10 yrs. experience, drinking a cold one, and chatting it up with the guys for the holiday. We’re happy to report that “The Boys” successfully found their BBQ dad, just in time for Father’s Day last year!

10. Psych! -Class of ’17

Probably the BEST senior class prank in the history of pranks, this 2017 class decided to place their entire school building for sale. They even threw in the underclassman to sweeten the deal. All of this for the low price of $2,017. What a STEAL!
